When I was a child we were at the low end in the money department so whatever was put on the table for our christmas dinner was that years tradition. We lived in New York City and I got to see the magic of christmas through a child’s eyes by looking at the Macy’s window, visiting Santa there, and seeing the city with all its bright lights. We never had a tree till the man who owned a John’s Bargain Store gave us one after he saw me looking at it in awe.I am in my senior years now and still have the decorations that came on the tree and put them out each year.I always think of that nameless man and how he blessed a child.
My traditional meal is not what feeds my body but the memories that feed my soul!
