Billy Graham’s Hometown Tour

Please Note: This added optional tour experience is provided by an outside vendor, C-Charlotte Tours. Admission to the Billy Graham Library is always free and can be booked in advance on our reservations site.

Billy Graham was born in Charlotte, N.C. in 1918, and grew up just outside of the city on a nearby dairy farm. Though he traveled all over the world for much of his life, North Carolina has always been home to him. Choose this unique tour for your group, and spend the day learning about North Carolina’s Favorite Son and his hometown of Charlotte. Begin at the Billy Graham Library where you will discover how a humble farmer’s son became pastor to presidents and shared God’s love with millions of people around the world. Retrace his dynamic journey as history comes to life through inspiring multimedia presentations and state-of-the-art exhibits. Enjoy lunch in the Graham Brothers Dairy Bar and do some shopping in Ruth’s Attic bookstore. After lunch, you will head out for a tour around Charlotte, seeing some of the historic sites in the life of Billy Graham and his family, learning about the Queen City along the way.

  • Minimum/Maximum Number of Participants: one group of 10–28
  • Cost (includes lunch): Adults – $45, Children 6 to 12 years – $25

Tour Itinerary

9:45 a.m. Arrive at the Billy Graham Library
The Library is conveniently located off of I-85 and I-77 at 4330 Westmont Drive, Charlotte, NC.

10:00 a.m. Begin guided tour of the Journey of Faith

11:30 a.m. Lunch in the Graham Brothers Dairy Bar
Relax over fresh sandwiches, salads, cookies and ice cream. Lunch is included in your tour price and you will be given a voucher to receive your lunch.

12:45 p.m. Board shuttle in the Billy Graham Library parking lot
Local tour company, C-Charlotte Tours will pick you up to begin your tour of historic sites in the life of Billy Graham.

1:00 p.m. Depart Billy Graham Library for tour of Billy Graham’s hometown

2:30 p.m. Return to the Billy Graham Library
Once you return to the Library, you are free to leave or continue visiting the property, shop in the bookstore, walk around the prayer garden, tour the Homeplace.
