Wednesdays with Will – Return to God

There are times in our life, when we feel far from God. Maybe right now, you feel like God is distant or at least He seems to be very quiet in your life. Often we believe it is because God has moved away from us, but in reality, it is us who has moved away from God. In Zechariah chapter 1:3 the prophet told the people to return back to God, and God would restore that relationship. Israel turned from God and His Words and went down the paths of disobedience and spiritual idolatry. The prophet was sent to tell the people to come back—to repent—to return to God. And they did.

When we live by faith, then we must realize that God has not moved, but rather it is us. Sin will usually take us far from God. But the good news is that once we change direction and come back to God, He is ready to receive us, like a parent waiting for a runaway child to come home. Keep listening for the call of God. He is waiting for you.
