A Poem by Ruth Bell Graham about Contentment

Teach me contentment Lord

Teach me contentment, Lord, whate’er my lot,

keeping my eyes on You in trust,

knowing Your love is true, Your way is just.

Teach me discontentment, Lord, with what I am;

daily striving, growing daily nearer

finding You are daily closer, dearer

Contented, Lord, yet discontented make me,

both together working, blending

all in Your own glory ending.

    I very much like Ruth’s down to earth poetry—all about life and its ups and downs but always relying and supported by her faith! I have all of her poetry books and other inspirational writings and always look forward to reading them. I’m so glad she had the time to write them, feed our souls and bless us!

    We’ve been blessed to visit the Billy Graham Library twice. Once before & once after Billy’s passing. The “living room” of the museum inspires me as a Mother & Wife to serve the Lord daily through my service to my family. Thank you for sharing this lovely poem!

  4. Grace Strand says:

    Totally enjoy everything that comes my way from you. My husband and I are retired, not interested in what tv has to offer so we concentrate on christian material. We celebrate our 64th anniversary next week. Praise God.

  5. Mary Walker says:

    Your mother’s poetry and writings have sustained and encouraged me through the years.
