Every year at Christmas, my Mom and I make Chex-Mix. But at our house, it is called dog food. My Dad was a pastor and someone gave one of the elderly, feisty ladies in the church a jar of Chex-Mix one Christmas. As only someone older can say and get by with, she asked, “Who in the world gave me a jar of dog-food.” From that day forward, Chex-Mix is known as dog food in our house. In fact, tomorrow – Tuesday – we will be making our first batch of dog food!!
Peanut Butter Blossoms are my favorite Christmas treats. I know they are easy enough to make throughout the year, but I have never even attempted it. In my mind, they are only allowed to be made in December.
