Some people raise questions about the Bible, such as, “Can we trust the Bible?” But the Scripture says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16 NKJV).
The written Word of God was prepared under direction of the Holy Spirit: “No prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:20-21). Even though the human writers of Scripture wrote as people of their time, God ensured that the words and thoughts were inspired and recorded accurately as He intended.
Because the Bible is God’s inspired Word, it does not contradict itself or teach falsehoods—because God cannot lie. We may not understand every detail of Scripture, but we must never lose sight of the fact that it is God’s Word and not man’s ideas or opinions.
I don’t understand everything in the Bible. I accept the Bible by faith as the Word of God. It has changed my life, and it feeds my soul. Every time I read the Bible, it speaks to me.
Job said, “I have treasured the words of his [God’s] mouth more than my portion of food” (Job 23:12). The Bible is a living Book, a Book about faith, a Book about God. It is a living Book that speaks to us as we read it.
Prayer for the Day: The Bible says Your Word is truth. Use it, dear God, to teach me and show me how to live a life pleasing to You.
