In His Own Words: Billy Graham on Queen Elizabeth

As Queen Elizabeth celebrates 65 years as the ruling monarch of the United Kingdom, we are looking back on Rev. Graham’s memories of the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II:

Billy Graham on Queen Elizabeth

“No one in Britain has been more cordial toward us then Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Almost every occasion I have been with her has been in a warm, informal setting, such as a luncheon or dinner.

Her official position has prevented her from openly endorsing our Crusade meetings. But by welcoming us and having me preach on several occasions to the royal family at Windsor and Sandringham, she has gone out of her way to be quietly supportive of our mission. She is unquestionably one of the best-informed people on world affairs I have ever met.”84B 170-1_edit-web

Dr Billy Graham continues to be a tremendous inspiration to the younger generation of preachers like me. may the Lord continue to keep him in sound health as he celebrate 100 years in 2018. It was a great inspiration for me to visit Billy Graham Library in 2011 through the Kindness of Leighton Ford.

I believe ‘The Crown’ went out of their way to show what admiration Queen Elisabeth had for the work and message the Billy Graham brought to England. Wonderful episode! Billy Graham has had such an impact around the world, and I thoroughly enjoyed listing to his crusade sermons on XM radio during November. I wish it ran year round!
