Cue Cards from ‘The Dick Cavett Show’

In 1972, Billy and Ruth were interviewed by F. Lee Bailey for “The Dick Cavett Show.” The episode, which aired on June 21, 1972 also featured F. Lee Bailey and pianist-humorist Victor Borge.

These cue cards, from the show are on display in The Journey of Faith inside the Billy Graham Library.

This was not Billy’s first appearance on the popular show—he appeared on Dec. 16, 1970, and again on March 7, 1972, in an episode that also featured Pat Boone.

Mr. Boone shared these words about the encounter in the book Chicken Soup for the Soul: Billy Graham & Me:

For Shirley and me, one of the grandest blessings in our richly blessed lives has been our friendship with Ruth and Billy Graham. . . . A God-ordained mutual appearance on national television tops my list of memorable moments with Billy Graham. It was in 1972 on the popular Dick Cavett Show, and Billy was the main featured guest.
