Each year when Christmas at the Library ends, we begin preparing for the following year. So, to say we have been looking forward to this day for a long time is an understatement. As you look forward to celebrating this special time of year and perhaps joining us one evening at Christmas at the Library, here are a few things to help you prepare. These are especially handy tips for our friends who will join us for the first time.

Come early. Come early in the evening (Christmas activities begin at 5 p.m. daily) and consider coming earlier in the season when the lines aren’t quite as long.

Wear a jacket. This is just a friendly reminder that a number of the activities at the Library during Christmas (carriage rides, live Nativity, carolers) are outdoors. Plan accordingly. But, remember when you do get chilly, there’s a warm spot inside to grab a cup of hot chocolate and take the “Journey of Faith” tour.

Come hungry and enjoy dinner on the grounds. This is new this year – the opportunity to enjoy Christmas dinner. It is first come, first served Thursday through Saturday. Find all the information on the website or call us at 704-401-3200.

Check the website. Before your trip, it’s always handy to check the website. There you can find the hours, latest information on costs and more. Remember that after 3 p.m., there’s a $10 parking fee per vehicle.

Invite a friend. Christmas at the Library is a safe, family friendly event. And, we want every visitor to see the true meaning of this special time of year when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Use this as an opportunity to be an encouragement to those around you who might need it. Invite them to come along with you. It might be something that changes their life forever.

Christmas at the Library runs Dec. 1-22. Christmas activities begin at 5 p.m. daily. Closed on Sunday. Visit www.billygrahamlibrary.org for more.
