Ruth 100: Ruth as an Author

December 10, 2020

Ruth Graham was an amazing woman with so many God-given talents that she used to honor her Savior, Jesus Christ. One such talent was the gift of writing. Ruth was a talented poet and author, and wrote 14 notable and award-winning books, including Legacy of a Pack Rat, Sitting by My Laughing Fire, and Letters from Ruth’s Attic.

In Footprints of a Pilgrim, her book of poems and stories, she elaborates on her love of writing:

Ruth’s was constantly editing. Even after a book was published, she would make notes in her copies for future edits. She also helped Billy edit his manuscripts for his books and was his foremost advisor on sermon topics.

The Ruth’s Attic Bookstore at the Billy Graham Library offers a whole section of Graham family books to interested guests. To find out more about the Library and to plan a visit, go to billygrahamlibrary.org.

The Billy Graham Library features an entire gallery, “Footprints of a Pilgrim,” dedicated to Ruth Graham. Her handmade wedding gown is featured, along with memorabilia from her childhood in China and her personal scrapbooks.
