As the season of holidays approaches each year, many families will make plans to visit their favorite places and some new ones as well. A trip to the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte has become a southern-tradition, as thousands from across the Carolinas and the Southeast are welcomed to the Christ-centered celebration of Christmas at the Library.
CHRISTMAS AT THE LIBRARY COMMENT FROM GUEST
Such a peaceful place. How can one not focus on God! There is so much love and joy here, especially during the Christmas season.
While the Christmas at the Library doesn’t officially kick-off until Nov. 29, visitors to the Library can begin to see the decorations adorning the 20-acre site starting in early fall. There are twinkling lights strung on trees, garland swags draped on the split-rail fences, and just this week the 24ft. ornamented Christmas tree was added to the Library lobby and an enormous, lighted wreath was hung on the outdoor silo.
Ruth’s Attic bookstore is already stocked with many inspirational gifts, as well as Christmas decorations for the home and your own tree, Advent calendars, and festive apparel. These items are limited and more will be added throughout the season, so plan to stop by soon to get the perfect present for those on your gift-giving list.
CHRISTMAS AT THE LIBRARY COMMENT FROM GUEST
Every Christmas we visit the Billy Graham Library. It’s a can’t miss event in Charlotte. Between the live nativity, carolers, and horse-drawn carriage rides, there’s something for all ages.
A number of family-friendly activities visitors have enjoyed in previous years will be available including horse-drawn carriage rides, Christmas story time for children, live music from carolers, a beautiful display of lights, and a live Nativity, depicting the very first Christmas night.
In 2021, guests to Christmas at the Library are asked to make reservations ahead of their visit at billygrahamlibrary.org. Admission to the Billy Graham Library is always free, including Christmas at the Library, however a few activities do have an added fee including carriage rides and Christmas dinner.
We were blessed to finally be able to visit the Billy Graham Library at Christmas. We did the carriage ride, and saw the live nativity, and enjoyed the carolers. Christmas is definitely a beautiful time to visit.
