Billy Graham Book Feature: “The Heaven Answer Book”

June 3, 2026

What happens after we die? This is one of life’s frequently asked questions, and yet, those who are not Christians often have difficulty explaining the answer.

Billy Graham preaching at his final Crusade in New York, 2005

Those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ have a very clear view of what happens when we die. Rather than something earned by doing good works or achieving perfection, Christians receive the free gift of salvation (forgiveness of sin) and eternal life with God in Heaven because of what Jesus did for all humanity through His death and resurrection. For those who believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior, Heaven is an eternity spent without death, disease or sorrow.

But what is Heaven like? Billy Graham answered this in The Heaven Answer Book. The pages are filled with Biblically-based answers to questions about Heaven including where it’s located, what it looks like, and if there will be animals in Heaven.

Billy Graham writes:

“It is part of our human nature to want to satisfy our imaginations about Heaven, but God has His reasons for giving us only a taste of His eternal dwelling. Human language falls short of describing such majesty. The magnificence of earth’s possessions will dim in Heaven’s sunlight … Keep in mind that in Heaven everything is made new. We are given only snapshots of things to come. We will require a heavenly transformation to comprehend such glory.”

Throughout his more than 80 years of ministry, Billy Graham preached the message of the cross so that millions would know of God’s love and His desire to welcome them to an eternal home in Heaven.  He closed the book with this message:

“If you and I could sit together for a few minutes to talk about the subject of Heaven, I would very much want to share the following with you.

The Bible has much to say about the brevity of life and the necessity of preparing for eternity. Someday this life will come to an end—but what then? The Bible is clear: ahead of us is eternity, either with God in Heaven or in a place of utter loneliness and despair the Bible calls Hell.

If you have never given your life to Jesus Christ, or if you are unsure of your eternal destiny, I invite you to turn to Him now. By a simple prayer of faith, you can give your life to Him today.”
