The Archive Collection

A Collection of Military Artifacts

July 12, 2018

With a 60 year ministry comes historic and memorable artifacts. For the remainder of this year, we will feature a monthly collection of artifacts from our archives. This month we are featuring multiple military items that were given to Billy Graham in the 1900s.

1960s — Marine Corps Plaque

Lt. General R.E. Cushman, Jr. gave this plaque to Billy Graham from the Air Ground Team/Marine Amphibious Force of the United States Marine Corps Danang, Vietnam.

1972 — Sword and Scabbard

This sword and scabbard were given to Billy Graham on May 4, 1972, at a dedicated service by the U.S. Corps of Cadets-U.S. Military Academy.

1990 — U.S.S. Cushing Plaque

Billy visited the officers and crew of the U.S.S. Cushing in 1990, during the Gulf War, and was given this plaque.

To celebrate those who have served or are serving in the U.S. Military (and their immediate family members), the Billy Graham Library is hosting a complimentary military appreciation luncheon on July 28. Click here to register.
