Remembering Billy Graham on His Birthday

November 3, 2023

Billy Graham would have been 105 years old on Nov. 7 of this year. Once he accepted God’s call on his life to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world, he wholeheartedly devoted his life to that calling.

Throughout his ministry, Billy Graham would celebrate his birthday in many places around the globe.

In 1990, Billy Graham celebrated his birthday in Hong Kong with a multi-layered cake covered in icing and various fruits.

Billy Graham was once asked what was the greatest surprise he had found out about life. His response – “The brevity of it… Time moves so quickly, and no matter who we are or what we have done, the time will come when our lives will be over. As Jesus said, ‘As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work’ (John 9:4).” It is these brief moments of celebration of life with friends, family, and colleagues that encouraged Billy Graham as he preached across the globe for more than 70 years.
