It is so easy to put our confidence in both mankind and the things of this world. When we get afraid, we look to things and people to bring peace in our lives. But what often happens is that soon as we put our trust in man, we find ourselves with a bandage solution for an emergency type of problem. The Psalmists says, in Psalm 118:8, “It is better to trust in the Lord, than to put confidence in man.” And that means all our trust.
When we fail to exercise our faith on a daily basis, it causes us to put our trust in things of this world, instead of the one whom we were created to trust. Failure to put our trust in God will only lead to a life of brokenness, defeat, and uncertainty. When our faith is placed in God, we are led to a life of joy, victory, and certainty. Live by Faith and not by Sight.
