The Route 66 God Loves You Tour is in full swing as Franklin Graham travels on a 2,000-mile trip with eight stops along historic Route 66. The Tour began Sunday, Sept. 19 4 p.m., in Joliet, Illinois and will end in San Bernardino, California, on Oct. 2.

The fourth stop on Franklin Graham’s Route 66 God Loves You Tour is Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Saturday, September 25 at 7pm at the State Capitol South Lawn.
Billy Graham’s History in the Oklahoma City area
Billy Graham held evangelistic events in the Oklahoma City area from 1956-2003 where over 696,000 people came to hear Mr. Graham preach.
June 3 – July 1, 1956 | Oklahoma City
The crusade was primarily held at state fairgrounds grandstand in Oklahoma City. The closing night of the crusade took place at the football stadium on the campus of the University of Oklahoma in Norman. During the crusade, Mr. Graham also spoke from the steps of the state Capitol building as well as the Capitol Hill High School football stadium.
October 23 – October 30, 1983 | Oklahoma City
This crusade took place at Myriad Arena which is now Prairie Surf Studios. Over 130,000 people attended this event.
June 12 – 15, 2003 | Oklahoma City
Then, in 2003 Billy Graham traveled to Oklahoma City for a crusade that took place at the Ford Center (now Paycom Center).
Franklin Graham’s History in the Oklahoma City area
Meanwhile, Franklin Graham has travelled a number of times to the Oklahoma City area between 1991 and 2016.
On April 27, 2016, The Decision America Tour stop was right outside the Oklahoma capitol, almost in the same spot as where his father preached in 1956. More than 5,000 people attended, including the state’s governor at the time, Mary Fallin.
In addition to Franklin’s evangelistic events in the Oklahoma City area, he also preached in Tulsa in 2003, and in 1993, you preached in Enid, which is 95 miles northwest of Oklahoma City.
