It’s been a year since God called home his faithful servant, George Beverly Shea. Although his voice can no longer be heard, his song carries on proclaiming the “the Story of Jesus and His love” that Bev delighted in.
In George Beverly Shea’s book, “How Sweet the Sound,” Billy Graham shared this note:
“The title of Bev’s song ‘The Wonder of It All’ is a declaration of the very essence of Bev’s faith – a heart overwhelmed by the grace and majesty of God.”
Today, as we remember George Beverly Shea we hope you enjoy these words from his song.
The Wonder of It All
There’s the wonder of sunset at evening,
The wonder of sunrise I see;
But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul
Is the wonder that God loves me.
O the wonder of it all!
The wonder of it all!
Just to think that God loves me.
O the wonder of it all!
The wonder of it all!
Just to think that God loves me.
There’s the wonder of springtime and harvest,
The sky, the stars, the sun;
But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul
Is a wonder that’s only begun.
