This bright red, painted Easter egg was gifted to Billy Graham in 1984 by the Metropolitan Philaret of Moscow—the hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia at the time. Mr. Graham held a crusade in Moscow that year from April 18th- May, 4th; when Russia was still known as the Soviet Union. The beautifully painted egg depicts the resurrection of Jesus Christ—the reason Christians joyfully celebrate Easter each year.
