Join us at the Billy Graham Library for Book Talks, a monthly group conversation about one of the many good reads we offer in Ruth’s Attic bookstore.
Deepen your relationship with Christ and discover how to share your faith with others as we dive into a specific title. When you RSVP, you’ll receive a free copy of that month’s chosen book, though finishing it is not required to attend. Bookstore staff will help lead each discussion, which will be held in Billy Kim Hall near the dairy bar.
Space is limited, so sign up today.
In November, we’re reading While Men Slept by Dr. L. Nelson Bell.
L. Nelson Bell was a noted surgeon and medical missionary to China from 1916 to 1941. He and his wife, Virginia Leftwich Bell, had five children, including a daughter, Ruth, who went on to marry Billy Graham. After WWII forced the family to leave the mission hospital and return to the United States, Dr. Bell practiced medicine in Asheville, North Carolina; co-founded and edited the magazine Christianity Today; and served as a leader in his denomination.
Dr. Bell had a passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for Biblical truth. He began compiling this book in the 1960s and published it in 1970 to exhort the church to remain vigilant and firmly planted on the Word of God. Today, in a culture where God’s truth is under attack, Dr. Bell’s passionate call is just as timely and urgent as it was over five decades ago.
