Summer has arrived in Charlotte, North Carolina! As the days grow longer, many people are searching for family-friendly activities. At the Billy Graham Library, we have something for everyone. Here are five reasons to visit the Library this summer:

1. Events for all ages

This summer, the Billy Graham Library will host several events for kids and young adults, and an evangelism training to help Christians share their faith. Check out our Events page to find more details about these upcoming opportunities.

Are you a bookworm? You can take part in one of the free reading events offered two days each month–Children’s Story Time and Ruth’s Attic Book Talks.

2. An educational experience

For the history buff, you can explore The Journey of Faith and see how Billy Graham’s life and ministry are interwoven with critical moments throughout the last seven decades, from the Great Depression to 9/11, and from The Cold War to the World’s Fair.

For kids, Bessie’s Brainteasers are a great, interactive way to stay engaged during your visit. This scavenger hunt helps children experience The Journey of Faith by focusing on trivia, memorabilia, and Scripture throughout the tour. They even get a prize when they complete all the questions!

3. Refreshing treats

No trip to the Billy Graham Library is complete without enjoying lunch or a snack at the Graham Brothers Dairy Bar café where you can grab a sandwich, a Billy Frank hotdog, Mother Graham’s pound cake, ice cream, milkshakes, and sweet tea! If you’re looking for a pick-me-up, the dairy bar also features a specialty coffee menu including lattes, chai tea, iced and frappe beverages.

4. Gifts for young and old

Ruth’s Attic bookstore is filled with inspirational books from the Graham family and other classic Christian authors. The bookstore also carries a variety of décor, jewelry, Bibles, apparel, and more. While there you can also catch a glimpse of books from Billy Graham’s personal library on display, as well as photos and artifacts from the Graham family.

5. A place of quiet reflection

Enjoy a break from the busyness of life. Explore the Billy Graham Library grounds to see various flowers and plants native to North Carolina. Or spend time relaxing on a shaded bench or enjoying conversation on the patio. You can take the time to reflect on the lives and ministry of Billy and Ruth Bell Graham as you visit their final resting sites in the Memorial Prayer Garden, as well as other longtime members of the Billy Graham Crusade Team.
