Fifty years ago, Billy Graham was awarded The Golden Rule Award in New York at the 32nd communion breakfast by the St. George Association of the New York City Police Department (NYPD).
The NYPD St. George Association is a Christian organization tasked with serving the New York police officers spiritually, socially and professionally. They encourage their members to live their faith both on- and off-duty, thus embodying what St. Paul wrote: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:17.)
The award—a key chain and key—is now part of our archive collection at the Billy Graham Library.
