On June 10, 1920, Ruth McCue Bell was born in Qingjiang, Kiangsu, China. Franklin Graham, recalled what would have been his mother’s 97th birthday this past weekend:
“I truly had a one-of-a-kind mother. She liked motorcycles and fast cars, and I don’t think she was afraid of anything. Today, June 10, would’ve been her 97th birthday, and I can’t help but wish she were here to celebrate. But she’s with her Lord and Savior whom she loved and lived for. Ruth Bell Graham spent her life telling others about Him—and her home was no exception, she started with us kids. Even more important to her than her birthday was her “new birth” in Jesus Christ.”
