SUMMARY:Ruth's Attic Book Talk
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Billy Graham Library for Book Talks\, a monthly group conversation about one of the many good reads we offer in Ruth’s Attic bookstore. \nDeepen your relationship with Christ and discover how to share your faith with others as we dive into a specific title. When you RSVP\, you’ll receive a free copy of that month’s chosen book\, though finishing it is not required to attend. Bookstore staff will help lead each discussion\, which will be held in Billy Kim Hall near the dairy bar. \nSpace is limited\, so sign up today. \nIn September\, we’re reading Fan the Flame by Jim Cymbala. What if we modeled our churches after what Jesus intended His church to look like? What if our hope for our ministries rested not on human wisdom but on God’s power? \nOver the past few years\, we’ve all seen how quickly circumstances can change\, and many of us have experienced firsthand how church growth trends and popular models fail us. Churches across the country are struggling\, and many pastors are deeply discouraged. We work hard and with great sincerity\, but our efforts don’t seem to be helping our churches flourish. \nJim Cymbala—New York Times best-selling author and long-time pastor of The Brooklyn Tabernacle—has been watching the pressing need for back-to-the-basics spiritual leadership among Christians\, and he’s seen so many churches come to defeat because so many leaders forget this one truth: Your church is not your church. It’s Christ’s church. In order for his church to flourish\, we have to minister his way. \nReserve Your Spot.\n

Bookstore staff will help lead each discussion\, which will be held in Billy Kim Hall near the dairy bar. \nSpace is limited\, so sign up today. \nIn November\, we’re reading While Men Slept by Dr. L. Nelson Bell. \nL. Nelson Bell was a noted surgeon and medical missionary to China from 1916 to 1941. He and his wife\, Virginia Leftwich Bell\, had five children\, including a daughter\, Ruth\, who went on to marry Billy Graham. After WWII forced the family to leave the mission hospital and return to the United States\, Dr. Bell practiced medicine in Asheville\, North Carolina; co-founded and edited the magazine Christianity Today; and served as a leader in his denomination. \nDr. Bell had a passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for Biblical truth. He began compiling this book in the 1960s and published it in 1970 to exhort the church to remain vigilant and firmly planted on the Word of God. Today\, in a culture where God’s truth is under attack\, Dr. Bell’s passionate call is just as timely and urgent as it was over five decades ago. \nReserve Your Spot.\n  \n

SUMMARY:The Message Lives On: Remembering the Life and Legacy of Billy Graham
DESCRIPTION:Throughout his ministry\, Billy Graham preached the Gospel to nearly 215 million individuals around the world.
\nIn February\, we’re reading Whatever Happens: How to Stand Firm in Your Faith When the World Is Falling Apart. \nDo you struggle keeping your faith in a world that’s losing its mind? These 31 short chapters take a deep dive into the book of Philippians\, which Robert Morgan says is the Bible’s handbook for tackling each day with an undaunted attitude. \nLife is unpredictable\, and the world is unstable. People have never been so confounded\, sensing our culture\, economy\, and geopolitical systems are spiraling downward. Even in our personal lives\, none of us knows what will happen next—which is why God gave us the book of Philippians. This short letter—just over 100 verses—can help us learn to live overflowing lives in an overwhelming world. \nPhilippians is one of the most practical books of the Bible\, which Robert Morgan says is as fresh as ever. Its theme can be summed up in these verses: “Whatever happens\, conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then . . . I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit\, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you” (1:27–28). Among the many lessons in Whatever Happens\, readers will learn how to: \nUse prayer to energize their life\nMake today about others\nStay as cheerful as possible in all circumstances\nLet others lean on their strength\nStart everything with praise and end everything with prayer \nAs the apostle Paul wrote his letter to the Philippians from a prison cell\, he was facing dire circumstances and an unsettled future. Would he be released or executed? But he knew one thing—that whatever happened\, he was going to stand firm in his faith and live a life worthy of the gospel. And no matter what we are going through today\, we can do the same. \nReserve Your Spot.\n  \n

SUMMARY:Ruth's Attic Book Talk
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Billy Graham Library for Book Talks\, a monthly group conversation about one of the many good reads we offer in Ruth’s Attic bookstore. Deepen your relationship with Christ and discover how to share your faith with others as we dive into a specific title. When you RSVP\, you’ll receive a free copy of that month’s chosen book\, though finishing it is not required to attend. Bookstore staff will help lead each discussion\, which will be held in Billy Kim Hall near the dairy bar. Space is limited\, so sign up today. \n\nIn June\, we’ll be reading The Handwriting on the Wall by David Jeremiah: \nThe book of Daniel offers some of the most vivid and descriptive portions of prophecy in all of God’s Word. Through the instruction of world-renowned Bible teacher Dr. Jeremiah\, Daniel’s visions come alive like never before. In The Handwriting on the Wall\, Dr. Jeremiah uses his clear and approachable style to help readers: See Daniel’s incredible accuracy in prophesying about events in human history that have already come true Find comfort in God’s specific and powerful promises for the future Place their trust in the reliability of God’s Word rather than the instability of today’s headlines Be assured that evil is on a leash and God is in control and much more! For Christians of every generation\, understanding the truth of biblical prophecy offers confidence and hope for the future. But that’s not all—to know the book of Daniel is to open a pathway for dynamic\, faithful living today. \n\nNOTE: On June 17\, the book talk will cover the first half of the book. On June 23\, the book talk will cover the second half of the book. Please sign up for both sessions if you wish to participate in this special two-part book talk. \n \nReserve Your Spot.\n
